Where Stories Grow

Professional editing services for fiction writers

How does editing work?

We usually start with a conversation about your project—what you’re writing, where you’re stuck, any goals you have, and where you feel the project needs deep attention.

When I read your manuscript, I focus on plot structure, character development, pacing, tension, voice, point of view and world-building. I look at how each part functions within the larger structure of the work, and how the manuscript is developing.

I give feedback in writing that is clear, specific, and impactful in revision. I include a one-on-one consultation with all editing contracts. This generally happens after you’ve seen and thought through my feedback. This is your opportunity to ask questions, go through the notes together and talk through revision choices in detail. Of course, you can also reach out via email if a question pops up later.

The process stays collaborative from start to finish. You remain in control of your manuscript. I work closely with the text to identify where it can be strengthened.

Credentials and Testimonials

Pointed out key word choice and grammar flaws that greatly improved my written work without taking away from the story I was telling. Also, helped clarify some story beats that were missing and unclear. 10/10 will work together again! - T.J
